The Start of my Wedding Day

There has been a huge flow of wedding pictures coming in. Talk about overwhelming! I love each one and I could sit and click through them all day long. (which I've almost done today, oops.) I have no idea where to start when it comes to sharing them with you! I think it would be best if I start with the beginning of my day.

On April 12th, I woke up bright and early for my hair and makeup to be done. Johnnie goes to church with me and is an amazing woman! She's a terrific makeup and hair artist! I've been going to her for years now. I basically had no idea what I wanted to do with my hair. The night before I was still looking online at pictures with my bridesmaids! Johnnie easily talked me into having my hair all up. And am I glad I did! I had no idea how the weather would be that day and it was so windy! My hair stayed up and pinned and un-moved all day long. For my makeup, I went with a natural look. Word of advice, go with the fake eyelashes. They make all the difference in photos!

Make up and hair: Johnnie Smith

There are a ton more where these came from! And I am so excited to document our wedding day. :)

About Our Home

I am loving our simple, little home. So. Much. We have been living in it for 4 weeks now, but it feels  like a lot longer. It's so comfortable, cosy, it's us. Within five to six (medium size) steps from the front door you are in our bedroom and in the other direction, our kitchen. Living so closely with someone has never been so fun! We have yet to find affordable kitchen chairs for our table. Funny huh? I let it bother me at first. I felt like the kitchen wasn't complete! But who cares. It's not about it looking perfect. In the mean time, we pushed our couch from the living room up to the kitchen table. Who has a comfy bench for their kitchen? ;)

I love the little moments that we have had in our home and our adventures. There is constant laughter, service, and love. It is fun when you are serving the one you love, and you know what? You start to love them even more! I appreciate all the little things Eric does in our home for us. Sometimes our early morning and busy schedules reflect the way it looks and he takes care of things I don't even think about! I feel so blessed to be in our home. To be together. To feel the love for one another and to grow in our marriage.

Hitting reality a little bit

It starts to feel more and more real. A couple of times this semester it has hit me that I am graduating in July. These past couple of days I've had a new realization. I have to find a job.

All nursing classes were cancelled, we were excused from school and our nursing class headed to Utah to tour hospitals, have mock interviews, ask questions and listen to a lot of presentations why we should consider applying to work at their hospital.

I have known for a while what area of nursing that I want to go into. But visiting these hospitals was an eye opener. I'll be put in Idaho for awhile. But seeing the other hospitals was impressive. Especially today. I had the opportunity to spend the morning at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Those are some dedicated, amazing nurses. The kind of nurse that I aspire to be. The nurses who make up the patients cheer team. Who hope the best for them. Who will make it possible for them to attend their high school prom, whatever it takes. Who work hard for those parents to have their baby home by Christmas. It was an awesome hospital, with an even more amazing staff.

We got a lot of tips when it comes to being a new grad applying for positions. Let the job searching and filling out applications begin! Ahhhh it's such a huge transition!

A moment to always remember

The first look. This was such a fun and relaxed day! Eric and I flew home to Texas a few days before the wedding, but on separate flights. It took him all day to get home when my flight was quick. The next time we got to see each other was when we were all dressed up to meet one another for a surprise look. Why we chose to do this? It took so much stress off of the wedding day! We were sealed in the Dallas Texas Temple and we focused on the sealing and our family there with us for our special day. We also took a ton of fun photos at the Temple, I'm dying to get those pictures back! Enjoy! :)

annnnnnnnnd, my favorite photo capturing a moment to always remember.
