Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

My goodness. I can not explain enough how much I am loving this holiday season.
And this much needed break.
We left our home in Rexburg on December 19th for Texas.. And we're still here!
I am so grateful both of our families live 45 minutes apart. Sometimes it is hard splitting time, but for the most part it's the best of both worlds. We have been so busy with family!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and were able to spend it with close friends and family! 

I was super happy with these family cards, our first ones as a married couple!
This year has been PACKED! From engagement, to wedding, to graduation, to vacations, to newlywed life.
We are looking forward to 2015!

Thanksgiving break recap

This Thanksgiving break was pure bliss. I made it home to TEXAS for 4 wonderful days. This was the first time Eric and I got to spend time together since he got home from his mission. It is still so crazy that he is home. I LOVED every minute! We spent one entire day out on the ranch. It was great! It was so nice to just be together after all this time :)

Home consisted of:

+catching fire

+2 Thanksgiving meals

+FAMILY

+lots of pie

+my amazing bed

+black Friday shopping

+putting the Christmas tree up and decorations

+horse back riding

+4-wheeling

+pickle ball

+bowling

+MEXICAN food 

 I loved the time of doing NO nursing. I enjoyed it way too much. I didn't want to come back. Within being back 24 hours it snowed 6 inches. Joy. Countdown is on until home for Christmas!

This Easter Season

Happy Easter! 

This Easter has been more special to me than ever before. I am so grateful for this time to reflect on the wonderful message of Easter. 

We celebrate Easter because Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead and he lives for us! He is truly the Son of God and rose from the tomb that first Easter morning. We can receive peace from the simple pronouncement in Matthew 28:6, “He is not here, but is risen.” It was the first confirmation of the Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Through His Atoning sacrifice and Resurrection, we will all live again.

John 11:25-26

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."

I have been able to find great assurance and encouragement in the knowledge we have of the Resurrection. The assurance of the Resurrection gives us the strength and perspective to endure the mortal challenges faced by each of us. It can also be a powerful influence to keep the commandments of God during our mortal lives. The assurance that the resurrection will include an opportunity to be with our family members. My testimony has been strengthened by knowing this truth. The truth of the Resurrection can take the hurt and loss of a loved one and be replaced by the anticipation of joyful reunions with loved ones.The knowledge of the Resurrection gives me the strength to carry on. Our mortal separations are only temporary. If we do our very best to obey and do better in this life, we will see our loved ones again.

I know that my Savior lives!

I taught my last class in primary. Because of Easter and families traveling and having plans, I only had two kids there. But we had so much fun! We had a little Easter egg hunt and went outside and played "Simon Says" aka "The Holy Ghost says" We should always listen to the holy ghost but sometimes Satan will try to trick us and we have to listen really carefully. It worked out perfect! 

I've finished working at one job and this Tuesday is my last day at my other job. 

I'm studying like crazy now and I'm taking my State Exam this Friday to be a certified nurse aide! I would greatly appreciate the prayers! I'm heading back to good ol' Rexburg on Saturday. I'm feeling every emotion about this new semester coming up.

Christmas and New Years 2011!

2011 went by soooo quickly!

NEW YEARS

I'm so ready for this year to fly by!

I was a little sad when I realized what was I really looking forward to in 2012?  In 2011 I was so excited about graduating from high school, turning 19 and moving out to start my first semester of college. Well, I accomplished all that! Now what’s going to happen this year?? We shall see. I'm sure this year will be filled with tons. I'll be faced with new situations, more opportunities and I'll make decisions. Some things may not go my way, things may happen unexpectedly and I may find inspiration. But its all about how we let these things affect us.

Something good about 2012? Well, I do turn 20 this year... really weird if you ask me. 

We brought the new year in with style. We made donuts! And they were super good!

Audrey cut 10 inches of her hair off! I can't believe she really did it! but she wanted to donate it. And it looks great!!

It is so good to be home and Merry Christmas!

It really is great to be back home with my family and friends! I am loving it! (and I'm back with all of my clothes haha) It's nice to not be so busy and for once not have to set an alarm. (yeah, I had one set on Saturday's too or I would of slept all day) I'm really excited for the next 3 months!! During the summer Audrey and I switched bedrooms. I really didn't care for hers so when it was getting closer for me to come home I was asking my mom if I could redo the room a little. She only kept saying "We'll see." Well, they had already re-did the room for me! A huge surprise! I love it!!

The first two days I'm home from college and I visit the high school both days??! haha! Monday at lunch time me, Zach, and Caitlyn made a surprise visit to the band hall. It was awesome seeing everyone! We had lunch with a teacher and Alyssa and I made some surprise visits to teachers. I'm an alumni of MHS... weird. Zach also was accepted into his architecture program at OSU. So we had to celebrate for that! I feel old celebrating for things like this haha!

Do I miss Rexburg? Yes/No. There's certain things I don't miss. Like the whole dating thing. Let's be honest here, I wasn't good at it. I gave it my shot. I should get an award for being the worse date ever. I miss my roommates and apartment!! I'm super excited for the spring now! Leah and I looked at a possible apartment we might be getting because we requested some different ones. They are so much nicer and HUGE! I'll be rooming with miss Leah, Angel and Carol again. yay!

The weather is AWESOME here. No other way to describe it. I'm happy to be in Texas :)

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break was a much needed break! On Tuesday the 22nd I finally left Rexburg and the apartment! It felt nice haha. I drove to Utah with an FHE brother and I stayed with Angel and her family. They seriously are the best and sweetest family! Also, two other people from BYU Provo stayed with her family too. It was a full house! And we had so much fun!

Sadly, I got really sick over the break. This happens to my body a lot... I just go, go, go. Always busy with something. Then when I finally get to relax my body just shuts down to recover from being so busy. I had been feeling bad a few days before we got out of school. But I was just so busy it was like my body couldn't acknowledge I was feeling bad. I hadn't been sick like this in a long time. It hit me hard for 2 days, then I started getting better. But I'm actually happy that it happened over the break instead of when I was in school. I slept LOTS and was well taken care of. I still enjoyed the thanksgiving break though! I had Thanksgiving Polynesian style! haha. We met at a stake center in SLC with 50+ other people, all Polynesian. (Angel's mom is from Tahiti) They know how to party! For 8 hours there was music, food, and volleyball. I had fun observing and eating:) haha.

Friday consisted of yummy IHOP and our intense game of  paintball! I've never played paintball before. SO MUCH FUN! We played games like "fend for your life" and capture the flag! In the first game we were never shot! But it was so scary. We had these good hiding places! The first time I was hit it was from a far distance and I was thinking "oh that wasn't so bad." So it gave me the confidence to really get into the game. Until I was getting hit from 3 feet away! Then I would just fall to the ground to recover haha. I have awesome battle bruises. Including getting shot on the top of my left hand! That one hurt the most. Anyways, So. Much. Fun. :P

 

Saturday morning I got to visit with some really good friends who live in Layton. My parents are considering moving to Utah. I think I would be okay with that! Then that afternoon I drove back to Rexburg. Lexi and I rode back together. Rexburg was sooooo deserted! For the first time I was in bed before 10 pm in college haha. But since then school has started back up. 

13 days until I go home!!
