Our Story

Check us out...
When we 'officially met'.

Our families lived in the same area and we attended church in the same building for a few years.
Until Eric's family moved away.
Eric's family moved again.
Then my family moved.
And there we were together again. Now 9 years old, going to church in the same building.
I remember Eric being loud... obnoxious... trying to balance his chair on the back two legs in Sunday school and constantly being told to keep his chair on the ground.
He remembers me as the girl who didn't like the treats they brought us.

We turned 12 years old, started getting a little older and everyone our age was mutual friends.
By age 14 I'd see Eric at church youth dances, we'd dance together, casually catch up.
ya know. awkward stuff.

Now for the fun of the story!
In early December 2008, age 16, I was out with an old friend and ran into Eric. We chatted with him for a little bit. After leaving the first thing I said was how attractive I thought Eric was and that's all I talked about the whole car drive home. Was that really the same 9 year old? I was head over heels for him. And he had no idea.
Eric thought something was majorly wrong when I started texting him more and more, haha.
"Hey what's up"
"Nothing much. What are you doing?"
"Just got home from school. How was your day."
"It was okay. I had football practice."
... that's basically how the conversations went haha

We awkwardly said 'I like you' and he asked me to be his girlfriend. That was September 2009.
I cherished every moment I got to spend with Eric. We lived 30 minutes away from each other and didn't attend the same high school. I remember that sweet moment when we got our driver licenses and he could drive to my house and pick me up for a date. Eric and I became the best of friends.
We dated all through Junior and Senior year of high school where we fell crazy in love with one another.

After high school, we said goodbye and Eric served a two-year mission for the LDS church
while I started college at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
I kept busy by checking the mailbox/stalking the post man, setting my goals high to be accepted into nursing school and dating boys who reminded me how much I loved Eric and how truly amazing he is.

We stayed best friends and Eric returned home in October 2013 from his mission!
Having him home was the most incredible feeling.
I can't even explain the feelings of joy/nervousness the first time we saw one another!

It really didn't take that long for us to remember how we felt about one another.

When we were in high school we longed for the day when we didn't have to say goodnight at the front door and go our separate ways.
We knew we would get married one day.
Which sounds really silly huh? But jokes on everyone else!

We were sealed for eternity on April 12, 2014 in the Dallas TX LDS temple.
It was hands down the happiest day of my life.
It was a beautiful day for us to start our lives/adventure together.
Now I'm married to the man I've been crushing on since I was 16!
